Years at this apartment:

I lived here for just under a year and loved this apartment. I had a 2 bdrm plus den which was a great floorplan. The kitchen and bathroom floors are linoleum, not real tile or wood, but the foyer is real tile which I appreciated (and wished there was more of!) I hardly heard anything from my neighbors and only saw them once or twice despite sharing an outdoor hallway with them! I found the pool to be desolate.. I felt bad they were heating it and cleaning it daily. I work an off schedule, so I enjoyed the pool every weekday by myself. Weekends it was a bit crowded with children. I liked the fitness area- the machines were high quality. I liked the free weights too. There was fresh water in there always, but the towels were not replaced often enough and were rarely there. The location was great- right near the highway but also right near the residential quiet areas of Scripps Ranch. We tried not to cross the bridge to Mira Mesa since the traffic is so bad over there! Moving out was a pain in the neck: I had never had to clean so much in my life! I had to repaint every single little fingerprint or scuff mark on the walls an doors, had to scrub the windowsills where the soot from the fires had settled, had to clean out every little hair and dust out of the washing machines and sides of the machines! Dusting the blinds, scrubbing out the fridge, etc. You get the idea. I have never had to clean this much in my life! In fact, moving into my new apt I was also cleaning the NEW place AND my old Monarch place since no one else's standards are as high as monarch(incl my new landlords). I had a garage but it was way too narrow. I drive a small sedan and hardly had room to get in and out. My guests woudl have to exit the car before I pull into the garage!! What'! As for a 2nd spot (which we were not guaranteed despite having a 2 bdrm) it was nearly impossible to find. You cant park in front of the office or they will TOW YOU. All the other spots were reserved or taken by people away on vacation. We parked out of the complex MOST days. Thats not saying a lot for a "gated" complex. Our car was also one time shot out with a BB gun while parked IN the gated complex. Several cars had their windows blown out. The office was sympathetic but offered little else. We paid the $200 bill to have the windshield replaced. That was a one time incident and seemed to be a sort of "freak" thing, but it did happen nonetheless. I'd recommend this place!
