I am a homeowner here and find it a pleasure to enjoy the ample ammenities. However, the neighborhood is not particularly safe with plenty of Megan's Law listings. There are a lot of car thefts in the area as well.

I moved here so I could get a dog. The limit is 2 pets below 20 pounds each. Mine is 10 pounds and fierce! However, upon living here, I found that pet owners are not allowed to walk their dogs inside the park like courtyard which we pay so much to have and are not even able to walk them within the gated parking lot. The parking lot itself is not always well lit and has a history of theft leaving it unsafe to be walking alone with a small pet in the dark. Outside the gated parking lot is even more dangerous. If it's not frustrating enough to not be able to walk inside the safety of the lit courtyard, you can expect to be verbally assaulted by irate neighbors when you walk your dog inside the gated area. If you have a pet, expect to be bullied by the homeowners association.

Another commentator said that rentors are 2nd class citizens here. I am an owner and feel the pet owners are treated far more poorly than a 2nd class citizen. I have lived in many privately owned condo complexes with pets and this is the first time I have experienced such awful and hostile pet-hating neighbors who will approach you yelling and honking their horns if they think your pet is within inches of the grass near their home. It is appalling to meet so many nasty middle aged people in one gated complex! We have mostly very cool neighbors all around. However, I would not have paid top dollar for a small condo in an average neighborhood if I had realized I would be subject to verbal assaults by a few bad apples who are even more bold because they are backed by the homeowners association. When I went to discuss this with the property manager, he acted real nice, but I happened to be throwing trash away about ten minutes later when he was telling three staff members about our conversation and stated "...she even said she should be able to walk her dog inside the courtyard" to which the other staff member replied loudly, "Bull---t!". At that point I walked up politely and asked a simple question regarding the blueprints for our individual apartments and then left.

Walk dogs in the courtyard...you are out of your mind! NO DOG POLICY to improve appearance & value of property. Move out!

I'm renting at Pacific Isle right now, and although I've only lived here a month I agree with the thought that pet-owners are considered to be 'lower class citizens' than renters, owners, and of course HOA members. I've already received FOUR complaints from the SAME HOA member - turns out he lives in one of the townhouses across from my condo and watches my every move. He has decided to call my landlord every minute to 'keep tabs on me' and I'm competely freaked out! I'm paying LOTS of money for this great condo, but if I had known my neighbors would be pet-owner bullies and taking time out of their days to call my landlord for FLASE accusations, I would have moved somewhere else. Can't wait for my lease to be up so I can move somewhere that's actually dog-friendly:)
