Naval Officer Denounces Living Here

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
I just moved out of Padre Gardens. I am an Officer in the U.S. Navy and I have to admit that after a year of living at Padre Gardens, I have been extremely disappointed. There are three things that should make you never consider living at Padre Gardens:
1. NO PARKING FOR RESIDENTS - As of the last 4 months of living at Padre Gardens they started redoing construction on the parking lot and just STOPPED. There is currently a large section of Parking Lot that is unusable. Because of this, there is NO PARKING FOR RESIDENTS and in fact, Padre Gardens has been towing its own residents in the middle of the night so that you wake up in the morning to having no car to get to work and a $200 bill for towing. What is even worse is that there is a large underground parking lot available and considering the current parking situation (where the management has failed to complete in a reasonable time frame), refuse to open up to general parking, even though most days there are no parking spaces left by 6:00 PM. The fact that we feel trapped in our own apartment after work, because we won't have a parking spot within a mile when we get back, is absolutely terrible.
2. NOISE - Unfortunately, Padre Gardens contains many young college students out on their own for the first time and they don't have much consideration to neighbors playing deafening music at all hours of the day and during the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. The walls and floor shake from the loud vibrations from the bass. Complaints to the Management have fallen on deaf ears.
3. QUALCOMM STATDIUM EVENTS - Padre Gardens' location is certainly not ideal. During Charger Season, unless you have a ticket for the game you might as well barricade yourself in your room, because you won't be able to leave or enter until at least 2 hours before and after the game is over. Access to I-15 will also be limited forcing you to drive 4 miles out of the way to get onto the Freeway. I thought that after Charger Season was over that things would get better... but then there was Monster Trucks, and Moto-Cross, and I think you get the idea...
Additionally, there was an increased amount of bugs in the Apartment before we decided to leave. This was the last straw for us.
I highly recommend NOT RENTING AT PADRE GARDENS. It isn't worth the price and will make your life a nightmare. I must say as a member of the Armed Forces and conscientious member of society, that I cannot willingly refrain from sharing my poor experiences at Padre Gardens and encourage the Management to mend their ways. And until that time comes, I highly recommend that NO ONE subject themselves to what I have had to experience there.
