Do NOT rent from Archstone!

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007

I lived at The Palms for 3 years...then Archstone took over and renamed to Archstone Del Mar Heights. (If you just moved in, it may seem nice...just wait!)
As soon as Archstone took over the complex, it began to go downhill.
The office staff is never friendly - always 'too busy' to assist.
The landscape was changed - gone were the lush trees, bushes and flowers. As well as a new landscape company that is not as efficient as the prior.
There is constant construction, painting, etc which is very noisy at all hours of the day and into the evening, including weekends.
When I moved out at the end of my lease, I paid $100 for a maid service and $100 for carpet cleaning out of my pocket, to ensure I would receive my full deposit back. 3 weeks later I got a check for a portion of my deposit - minus a $90 cleaning fee, plus a LOT of 'processing' fees.
I would not recommend this complex.
(Note the area is wonderful...I moved just 2 miles away and love it)
