I have lived at Portofino for a few months now and also work in the construction business. I would be lying if I said that everything has gone perfectly here, but that is to be expected with new construction. After listening to some of my neighbors complain, I feel bad for the people in the leasing office. They are not the ones who are in charge of building this place and yet they are the ones who get all the blame. They have always been very nice to me and taken care of any problems right away. If the other people who complained on this website knew anything about construction, they would know that the delays and imperfections are normal and would still happen even if they were moving into a custom home.
In regards to the parking, I have lived at a couple other properties in Mission Valley and the parking here, though annoying at times, is WAY better than any where else I have ever lived.
The rent is about the same I was paying at my last place, and sure there is construction noise to deal with, but the apartments are a lot nicer. The sound does travel easily between floors, but I have never lived in an apartment where it didn't. It seems easy to blame the quality of the construction when in fact your neighbors are just loud.
It seems that the people who do nothing but complain about this place should really be mad at themselves for their naive expectations of perfection.

Give it a few more months when your floor starts to sink into the support beam and you have a height difference underneath your carpet. "Imperfections" I agree...but "NOT TO CODE" is WRONG.
