Why Would You....

...want to live at this mega-complex''' Sure, it may be impressive driving in and seeing a gated community, but remember you have to share everything with a bunch of out-of-state hoodlums. Fact is, a lot of the people who live at Portofino are not anyone I would want as a neighbor. Think about it... these people pay nearly two grand or more for an apartment. Why' Because they are either drug dealers who can't verify income in order to buy a house, or "entertainers" (i.e., strippers or prostitutes), or pimps that move from one flashy complex to another to attract their whores, or students who get their parents to co-sign for their new party pad and then rent out the additional bedrooms to more students. If you have never lived in a large complex before, avoid this one like the plague! ...as well as The Promenade down the street too! I have lived at both. You are far better off finding an owner-leased condo where most of the residents are owners and don't put up with residents inviting 20 people over from SDSU to have a kegger by the pool or rev their engines when driving through the complex. Take it from me, unless you are a college student party monster, stay away from Mission Valley. You would be far better off renting Downtown or in University City instead of this glamorized tenament ghetto slum!
