Only live here if you have no friends...

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I moved here because I just recently relocated from NY and needed a quick cheap place to get on my feet. Well, you definitely get what you pay for here. Thank God we signed a 6 month lease, because there are TONS of problems with this place:
If you have any friends whatsoever, you can't live in Prado. There is one spot assigned and NO visitor parking. They say their is ample parking on the street, but its ALWAYS full. A handfull of times I Have had to have visitors park down at Vons and I had to pick them up.
The trask is picked up early Saturday Morning. This wouldnt be a problem if you are a morning person, but if you work a full week like I do, I like to sleep in a little bit on the weekends. The sound scares you awake. Along the theme of trash, there are trash shoots through out the buildings, so if you have an apartment down the hall from one (as I do) the whole halway smells like old, warm, garbage (in the summer its worse because the hallways are not ventilated and there is no AC).
There are also a lot of idiotic neighbors that get too roudy at night and dont know how to behave. Im allf or a good time but when cig butts are littered around and even on your car from peoples balconies and there is vomit in the elevator, theres a porblem with that. It also took a whole day for the vomit to be cleaned up and I couldnt use the elevator (the smell).
If you like digital cable or internet, dont move here. You cant get it. Cox and TWC are having a dispute over our zip code, so you can only get TV and internet through DSL (satellite). Ok, nice option...if your apartment faces South and you can get reception. I live in an apt facing North, so no cable, and internet is "borrowed" if anyone else is on an unsecure network.
Finally, the apartment complex is good about staying on top of fixing things (ie: water) but they shut it off without informing you. It would be nice to know that you cant shower before work a couple of days ahead of time.
The pros of this place:
1.) Its cheap
2.) The apartment size is large (I have a 1 BR 1 BA roughly 710 sq. ft)
3.) The landscaping is well maintained
4.) Location is central
Overall, if you need a quick place and dont care about these things, its a great starter place. Had I known about these things, I definitely wouldnt have moved here and am looking forward to leaving.
