OVERRATED, OVERPRICED BAD TO WORSE

FIRST - I'm sure some of the positive reviews are coming from the staff who work here who are aware that one of the "best places to live" in San Diego - would not get a "D" if this were a college course, but since it feels like a college dorm - that figures.

SECOND:

This place has turned from a nice place to live into a place to live that is an absolutely over-priced college dorm with bad customer service and even more terrible management. Some examples:

(1) when you are HOME don't try to get a FedEx or other overnight package because sometimes they knock and other times they don't. When they don't there are often notes left, you go to the office and your package is nowhere to be found (happened to me 3 times). All you get is a smile from someone who thinks they're too good to work in an apartment, but that is what they do (try getting in your mind a retail worker at Neiman Marcus when you show up in sweatpants: they're better than you regardless of whether or not you're the customer and you'll know what I mean).

(2) LOUD LOUD LOUD - trolley brings the homeless into the property and they wander around talking to security instead of security throwing them out. OR they stand at the trolley at just laugh and joke all night - big groups of them sleeping on benches or near the river. Who knows what diseases they're spreading or what damage they are doing to property, but with all the reports of stolen cars and broken windows it is no wonder. Couple that with the fact that corporate housing and college dorms make this place loud from Thursday night to Sunday and you can only dream of what it must sound like in a state college dorm. There were better manners in the barracks and it was quieter and cleaner.

Let's not forget the constant construction noise and the announcements from the trolley to tell idiots at all hours how to open the doors and let's just say - to find quiet here is to look for it in a bowling alley.

(3) COMMON AREAS DIRTY - there has been the same cup in the parking structure for MONTHS and the stains in and around the elevators are endless. Be careful where you step because you will end up stepping in something and you'll stick in it. The areas outside the elevators are cleaned seldomly, despite the appearance of being cleaned daily, but none of that really matters since it is done half-assed. The mailbox areas are a mess as well as it takes two days for garbage cans to be cleaned out to remove the unwanted trash.

(4) Overpriced for what you get. Don't get me wrong - when moving in you really think you're getting something, I sure did, and before it was finished it was fine, but this place is too big and has become a nice slum with a fountain. If it is not vomit in the elevators or on the ground it is broken beer bottles and don't even think about coming around if a football game is at the Q - people park here, take the trolley, come back toasted and loud and then throw up. Beautiful.

(5) Parking - simple - isn't enough.

(6) Maintained well, but it takes a few calls to get your issue addressed and the cheap way the place was put together leaves closets collapsing under the weight of regular clothes because it is being held up by plastic and there is gunk under the carpets so that you walk around on bumps under your carpet.

So why stay' Easier than moving, but all of that will change. Been here since the place opened, but with only the six things listed and about 20 more to list: you'll see why they have to employ teenagers to twirl signs to get people in. Take my advice and DO NOT MOVE HERE. I'm counting down the days for my lease to expire and cannot wait to move and let them turn this into an extension of college students because that is what it is - nothing more than a dorm with some hard working people and 8 students to two bedrooms to save on rent.

Hey fsugrads....you obviously don't live here! If you did, you wouldn't have such wonderful things to say, and you'd know that they turn the fountains off at night.

No you MUST not live here b/c you would know only the large fountain in the promenade is turned off but the smaller fountains within the buildings are left turned on 24/7!

I've only lived here for six months, but the noise is terrible! I can hear the people above me having sex every night at 2am. In addition think of the trolly every fifteen minutes, the loud noises on the street, and the everyday noises of the neighbors on either side! How thin are these walls!?

You know what I think all of you guys are a bunch of whiny asses. I lived in South florida where my freaking ceiling would leak because of the ---- bags that lived above me. I would get cussed out by the apartment manager for no reason and on top of that wait almost a whole year if not more for something to finally be fixed I moved out with stuff still wrong. So please don't go there about having a brutal time.

caligirl99 must be one of the S&*$ Head college kids that parties all night with no respect for her neighbors that have to work in the morning. Take a look at the rating honey.....lots of people hated living there. One of these days maybe you'll sober up and realize why.
