The bottom line

Here's the bottom line:
Pros: Amenities (2 pools, 2 workout rooms, trolley on-site), location (close to lots of things by car or trolley, but see below), well-maintained units and grounds.
Cons: Clientelle: many evidently rich beer-drinking truck-driving yahoo rednecks (where do the get the money to live in this place'), college students who can be routy; location: surrounded by freeways, can't walk anywhere; cost, but this is San Diego.
My wife and I (and now a baby) have lived here 3 years and I guess are lucky to have been in a relatively quiet location in our building; haven't had much trouble with neighbor noise (always a risk in dense living) and have found management to be responsive to needs. In all, the pros outweigh the cons in my mind, though we are looking to leave for a more neighborhood-like place with more walkable streets.
