I lived in Silver Spray Apartments and found huge problems with both the onsite manager and Southwest Management Company. I moved out in September 2007. I found that needed repairs were never made in a timely manner (at times it took 3 plus months for repairs to be made); rent was not properly credited despite checks being cashed by the management company's bank; serious drug problems in the main building as well as some violence - this includes tenants selling drugs as well as violent tentants; mold problems within the main building; exterior is in serious need of maintenance; very bad for partking; among other problems. I do not recommend this property to anyone. There have been complaints made with city and state officials over the years on Silver Spray and Southwest. The complaints include sexual orientation discrimination (homosexuality); gender-based discrimination (against young women); and inadequate housing conditions (i.e. no heaters; mold and mildew; improper fire exits). With all that said if you can manage to put up with all the above -- it is a great location -- right on the Pacific Ocean overlooking the OB Pier and sunset cliffs.
