This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The construction is old and not taken care of, the staff in the office lack anything resembling intelligence. The first day I was impressed with Kim, one of the ladies in the office. She seemed genuinely nice but once we signed the lease could care less that we existed. To say the noise is a problem is an understatement. The jets that fly out of Miramar will not allow you to watch TV at night, unless you like the closed captioning. The windows rattle ever time they fly over. The gas and electric bills were actually higher in that 800 sq ft apartment than I pay now in a 3200 sq ft house. There are some nice people that live there, however I would say 80% of them are not people I would choose to live near again. While living there my truck was broken in to 3 times, so much for security. The last place I stayed was off 15 and Poway Rd, it was definitely worth the extra 10 minute drive. The last complaint to mention was the final inspection. They wrote up everything down to replacing all the carpet (which was professionally cleaned after I moved out), and even replacing the kitchen sink. After asking for a written explanation, they quickly backed off and said it was a mistake. Every chance they get, they will find a way to squeeze more money out of you. Be warned, this place is a scam and should be shut down.

They kept most of my deposit too. I was a responsible 32 year old who never, ever had a landlord keep my deposit. I know now it wouldn't have mattered what I did, they would have kept my deposit (the excuse was that there was dust on the top of the dining table lamp!) You were smart to ask for a written response. Fortunately I was able to buy a place after this place so hopefully never have to face this kind of scam treatment again.

The noise is a problem, of course the big problem is that the planes from the air force base fly really low over the apartments (really low). Makes me wonder if the air force tests soil and air quality around Mira Mesa frequently and landmark in particular, as when the kids are in the playground the big planes fly directly overhead. Im sure that the rocket fuel that comes out of those planes is not good for young children, planes should not be flying so low over playgrounds and swimming pools.
Of Course when the wild fires or rain bring down most of this highly toxic stuff, nobody tests or cleans up this stuff, this place needs more environmental monitoring. I wouldnt be suprised if kids at landmark have more health problems and are more likely to be developmentally delayed than the general populus.

Well, if you were impressed with Kim, then you'll really be disappointed, because the witches working there now are far less intelligent and considerably ruder than she ever was! Sure, they'll be "nice" to you until your name's on the lease, but after that, expect a wall of stupidity and a ration of ---- whenever you need something fixed or if there's a problem that you need help with!
Take it from a former resident....you are better off staying at the Rescue Mission downtown!
