A few things to know if you plan on living here:
-Many tenents here are young and dumb- i.e. trash in hallways and elevators, exit signs broken on a weekly basis, grafitti on walls, and random doorbell ringing in the middle of the night.
-The maintenance staff is not very good at addressing these issues- if you are going to charge me $900 dollars a month, you should keep the grounds presentable. Don't be fooled by the annual clean up that is done in late July- early August, when they are trying to attract new residents. This place rarely looks that clean and attractive. -The office staff is not the most customer oriented. It is extremely difficult to get any kind of response to maintenance needs. I think most of the recent problems with the complex arose with a change in management.
That being said, I didn't hate living here. My apartment was large and comfortable and the location was excellent. As far as what you get for what you pay for, this apartment is probably one of the better deals around the SDSU area. It isn't perfect, but as a young graduate student I didn't find that the noise etc. was too much to deal with. As a bonus, it seems to me that the walls and floor have good insulation as I rarely heard any noise from my neighbors- most noise came from the hallway.
If you are looking to avoid most of the noise, I would suggest opting against the apartments that face the courtyard/swimming pool.
