Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2008
We ve lived in Torrey Ridge for more than 5 year in two different apartments. This complex is undoubtly the best complex you can find in the area, it has nice and well maintained landscape, plenty of spacious parking spaces, proximity of the canyon (you can even meet deer walking along the canyon at night), spacious and pretty nice floor plans, very responsible maintenance staff, most of the time working entrance gate.
But to get most for your money consider very carefully the location of the apartment, taking into account that there are young professionals residing here who love fast driving late at night, partying in the pool and the club house until midnight, and drinking in the pool at 2 or 3 am. So, if you need quiet place and don t want to be disappointed, think twice considering the units facing towards the entrance driveway and the pools.
Also, take seriously your neighbors complains if any, because the management may automatically take a complainer s side and ask you to leave. We were tormented by the management for several months because of our neighbors complaining of the noise allegedly coming from our unit; meanwhile the management s efforts to cooperate with us in sorting out the problem were inconsistent. The problem eventually disappeared when the source of the noise moved out.
Note that Torrey Ridge is not a non-smoking property. Therefore, if your neighbors smoke it can be a bit problematic enjoying the ocean breeze.
Overall, our experience with Torrey Ridge was highly positive.
