Like any place, Torrey Villas had its share of good and bad. The parking situation here is by far the most frustrating issue. Spaces are too narrow, and if you have one car just too close to the line, you lose an entire spot in that row. And forget it if you want to have friends over on the weekend, or come home from work after 4pm. Garage parking is interesting. Not so much the narrow entries that test your driving skill, and have you looking for touch up paint, but the fact that in your lease they state that if you own a garage you are required to park a vehicle in it. Yet you walk by many an open garage stuffed to the gills so tight that you could'nt park a bicycle in it yet alone a car. Despite repeated complaints they state there is no way they can enforce this. Then they should take it out of the lease. Maintenance has always been prompt and courteous when called, though occasionally require repeated calls for the same issue. Notice is usually given for general maintenance for unit issues by letter, but on occasion we had people pop onto our patio while we were not home, to come in and have workmen with total access to our things unbeknownst to us. Office staff was apologetic. Walls are thin, stairs are a bugger....especially to third floor on move in day or with groceries. Neighbors can be loud after quiet hours.... Amenities are nice. Theater, gym, pool, all very accessible. But beware if wanting to rent out the clubhouse. The rules governing accessible dates seems to change on a whim, as does the price of rental. It can be quite pricey, and you have to be done, cleaned and out at an early hour. Overall though, the staff was kind and responsive. Apartments are nicely laid out, with plenty of space, lovely patios, and nice kitchens. If they could fix the parking, it would greatly improve things
