Living at the Villas was OK. The place looks nice and the facilities are great. I agree with another review that the upgrades are poorly and cheaply done. The walls in our place were crooked and things would break all the time. Perhaps the worst thing about living at the Villas is the neighbourhood itself, UTC sucks big time. There is nothing there expect condos, condos, and cookie cutter strip malls. Absolutely no character. No cool stores, no cool bars, no good restaurants etc. If all you are interested is working and hanging out at your apartment complex then this place is for you. If not look some place else like Pacific Beach, Hillcrest, or downtown.
My biggest complaint is the amount the took for the security deposit - over $400 for a place that was left in emmaculate condition. We cleaned and painted for two days and they charged us for total bogus things like carpet stains in high traffic areas - Ha! There were no stains, we didn't even wear our shoes in the place.
