While being here at Mountain View Apartments, I have a few concerns, which might be helpful to others in search of an apartment. Here area a few to consider:

1. Laundry Room. There is only one small laundry facility located in the huge complex, which is open 24 hours. Bad times to do your laundry is Sunday and Monday Nights. For all the residents that reside here, I can't believe that there are only less than 10 washer and dryers to full fill everyones laundry. As you walk in there, you actually have a full house! Then if you leave your clothes for a long period of time, people have actually tossed it out to put theirs in, while your wet laundry is on the floor air drying. The laundry room is filthy, outdated, hot, and fixtures falling apart like tables are crooked, stains, paint chipping, broken air appliance. My suggestion is that they should of build several other laundry facilities on the apartment complex and keep them maintained.

2. Parking. There is plenty of parking when you have one assigned covered parking, while there are several open spaces where you can park without a permit. For myself, I have encountered a very unruly tenant that wanted me not to park in my assigned spot! I had to actually get his car towed since he refused to park somewhere else!

3. Apartment Rooms. The living room is spacious, the smaller bedrooms are a little too small, but the master bedroom has a huge side closet with a bathroom. The fixtures are outdated and shabby. The sliding doors for the closet are a pain since they de-rail quite frequently and make squeaky noises. The ceiling in the hallway are old and has debree and dead bugs in them. The paint is so heavily coated, that they also paint on top of the hinges of the doors. The shelves in the kitches are not even and is even dropping since over the years people have been putting heavy items in the shelves. There is also a roach problem as well.

4. Noise. The noise level is pretty high since it seems like the "walls are paper thin." You can hear neighbors, passerbys and cars screetching, and dogs barking. Especially I have this neighbor above me that has 2 pitbulls that bark loudly and leave huge droppings in the grass. Plus there is a lot of children running around the complex, and way too many skateboarders. I always collide with skateboarders on a daily basis. Plus too much loud music blaring out the apartments.

5. Safety. It sometimes feel safe, but the complex needs better lighting in the parking area and the walkway. I've seen one security guard around the complex, but I don't see that security quite often.

6. Management. Management is quite helpful if you approach them in a mature and calm manner, which problems get resolved that way. Usually you have to complain more than once to get someone's attention. But I give special props to Kim since she is extremely helpful and concerned when issues arrive. The other woman Sheryl is not really good to deal with since when I had an issue of the parking drama. My boyfriend and I walked in the office and told her that we had a parking problem. Well she told us to wait after she showed this one couple that was having an interest in the apartments. She told us to come back in 30 mins when she was done. We left and came back, and we found that the office was closed. We even waited an extra 20 mins in case she was running late. The security then told me that she left for the day. We were pissed! Also she doesn't give you a receipt after paying your rent, in which she quickly tells you "goodbye," after you have given her a payment. You always 100% have to ask her for a receipt. But if you want good quality customer service, ask for Kim!
