This apartment is at the busy intersection of Bush and Gough Street. There is a fire station at the top of Bush St. and occasionally there are fire engines blaring their sirens all the way down Bush St. Also, street noise due to buses, motorcycles, and cars. Didn?t get a good night sleep until I moved out one year after my lease ended. The pros is that the apartment manager is quick to respond to getting things fixed. However, he is very condescending. When I explained to him that I got laid off after working at one of those failed dot-bombs and requested a rental decrease, he told me to move to the Tenderloin where rents are cheaper. But, I couldn't do it as I was locked in a lease. When I found a new job and my lease ended, I found a new apartment ASAP. Also, he does insist that there are no pets allowed in the building. However, a couple of my friends have complained about the stench in the hallways. One said he thought it was cat pee. Also, when you move out, even if you clean the apartment thoroughly, the manager will take you to the cleaners - literally when it comes to your security deposit and hiring cleaners. He will charge for steam cleaning carpets, cleaning the many windows and blinds, etc... He prides his apartment building on being bright and sunny. But, there's a price for that when it comes to your security deposit. No way you can clean all those windows yourself. Also, beware of the mutltitude of ants in the kitchen during hot days. It is very disturbing and no matter how often you kill them, they keep coming back.
