Was paying $1550 for a relatively large furnished studio. It was all about the view. Nothing beats being able to see the sun set behind the GG Bridge while lying on the couch, or to watch the rolling fog cutting across the towers of the Bridge, or simply to look out at the bay when it was glassy and calm on a no-wind day.
Streeting at night is tough at best, especially since the hills are pretty steep around the bldg and walking one block is a hassle. The underground garage was clean and airy, which is a plus, but cost too much at $250.
The neighborhood was very safe, and you could walk the streets after midnight without unease. Traffic is minimal so noise level is good.
The bldg managers did a good job signing for my parcels, fixing broken stuff, and all else I needed them to do, so it didn't bother me that they didn't become my best friends.
