Views are nice, thats what drew me to this place. After living here a few years, there is a long, long list of negatives:
The other review was right, a 21 year old girl died recently on the 9th floor from a fire. Knowing Trinity I'm sure they've rented it out again.
The same year, an old man jumped off the roof (suicide 12 floor fall) and landed on Laguna, probably another victim of Trinity's numerous rip off tactics. The 12th floor and roof have felt really creepy ever since.
Trinity Management has the worst reputation of any apartment company in SF. Matter of fact, the founder Angelo Sangiacomo is the reason for rent control in SF due to a landmark case in '72 where he increased rents 100% just to prove he could. Hence he is known as the Father of Rent Control in SF.
Everyone is right, you WILL NOT get your deposit back. Mine was so clean that Monk from the TV series would have been in heaven and they still took mine. Incredible!
Elevators are CONSTANTLY broken, as are the garage gates.
Paint, maintenance, and fixtures are cheap and it's obvious they spend as little as possible.
Staff is exceptionally rude and what an attitude! Hard to believe who the customer is.
Plenty of other places with a good view.
Over the years, a quick search re: Trinity Management or Angelo Sangiacomo turned up a ton of horror stories. They've done something so the bad ones don't come up as easily as before, but if you look, you can still find plenty.
Marina Cove is another Trinity property and there they increased tenants rents 200%, just to get older tenants out so they could raise the rents. Hard to imagine under rent control, but it was done legally under "Capital Improvements" and that's the kind of company that Trinity is. It's all on the internet if you search.
Dirty tactics are used to get older tenants out. One senior was threatened w/ eviction when her son from out of state came to visit, another was hit with a 72 hour notice for goldfish. Guess what, if you ignore it, it doesn't matter if it was justified, they can legally evict you. Typical Trinity and the list goes on.
Despite the locked garages at 2000 Broadway, cars are broken into constantly and one time, a couple was moving and filled their SUV so that they could leave bright and early in the morning. When they woke up, everything inside was gone.
Building is cold and drafty due to concrete and bad/lack of insulation on all windows and doors.
The ugly giraffe tone hall carpet is occasionally replaced, but its the same ugly stuff. They must have bought 100 years worth of it when they first built the place.
Don't get stuck!!! 2000 Broadway and also anything Trinity Management is bad news...a total nightmare. Avoid anything with the Trinity logo of a house or dive bombing birds.
