This complex is not typical of San Francisco, which is what drew me to it. It was built in the late 90's, so it's for the most part clean and modern.
The good parts pretty much stop there. Building management is unresponsive and generally hard to deal with. (Think: used car salesman who's relatively friendly until you walk off the lot...)
There have been a number of apartment and vehicle break-ins in the last couple of months despite a token security guard presense.
The place is relatively poorly constructed - the walls and floors are super-thin, so you're always listening to your neighbors' phone, television, radio, pets, having sex, etc.
Other residents tend to be younger and less considerate. Not only about noise, but also regarding things like mailboxes - if your mail goes into somebody else's box, forget it. And if you have a package that's delivered and left by the mailboxes outside, likewise forget it - if the carrier didn't leave a note and you don't get to it within 30 minutes, you'll never see it.
