Management was horrific, but new people now!

I personally called the last managers Bloodsucking Vampires. Recently, however, a new management company has taken over and they are very nice! They remember my name and are very nice and professional. I agree with the other review, that the last managers were hostile, and I am so glad those people are gone!!
I have a 1 bdrm apt with 2 balconies. It is perfectly nice with a modern kitchen with pergo (sp') floors, dishwasher, etc. It is definitely nice with amazing views of the bay and twin peaks. We have ample room for out of town guests. We have roof access, where they placed astroturf and some lawn chairs, which has a 360 view. Garage is available at $5 per day, in case you rent a car. 2 cats allowed.
Bad points- late charge on rent 10%- that's $180 we paid once! There are the homeless people you can hear at night, constant fire trucks and police cars. Also weird pipe/water noises when neighbors flush. Terrible radio reception and you can hear your neighbors on your portable phone. Terrible mail situation-letters in your box, USPS packages pick-up only in mail room 6 am -10 am, UPS packages pick-up at bldg office. Our lease says that they reserve the right to charge tenants for service of holding UPS packages, ack!! Terrible parking spot prices of 175+ per month and the garage has gotten broken into several times.
However, there are guards in the building. Public areas are diligently cleaned and kept pretty with new flowers constantly.
Overall, the views and the dishwasher keep us here but when we have time to search for a different place, we'll be moving because rent is much too high.
