Yuck, you don't want to live here

When I moved to San Francisco I lived in Fox Plaza for awhile. I was excited about living in a tall building because I'm from a place where no building is over two stories tall. After signing a one-year lease, I realized my mistake after visiting other friends' apartments.
The units at FP are very small. The views are nice, but the building is so old that many of the appliances are out-of-date. It's a bad neighborhood, there are dangerous street people hanging around all the time. There is a post office on the lobby level, so that's a plus, but you have to pay extra for parking. The management are rude, pretentious, and treat you like dirt. There is good access to public transportation, however. The hallways are filthy, why don't they change the carpet or paint once in a while. Although I left my apartment in better shape than when I moved in, I didn't get my full deposit back. When I threatened to take them to small claims court, they just laughed at me.
The negative reviews of this place are all pretty much accurate, you can imagine that the positive ones are probably written by staff or owners of the building, since this is such a crappy place to live. It might be okay for a few months while you're looking for a real apartment, if you're not too picky, but think of it as a motel. A seedy motel. qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai
