Employees are rude, poor customer service, trash chutes send stench through vents, tiny laundry room, sporatic fire alarm drills at random hours that last for hours, construction nonstop as early as 5am, terrible neighborhood, new car broken into first night here, security minimal-offices broken into, crazy residents-some kicked out for acting inappropriately, the views from upper levels are pretty, but its not safe to leave the apartment, tenderloin district is the most dangerous in the city. please don't move here, they also put you through hell to transfer a lease, even to another archstone. Oh yea, absolutely no parking around unless you want to pay $185/mo to park in the garage, then you are lucky to find a spot. The inunit washer/dryers are awful, they are combined in one, and if they malfunction some cannot be replaced. No air conditioning in the whole building-may not tell you this when you apply. This is all truthful. I am honestly not bitter. I am a responsible graduate student and have had some amazing experiences with apartment rentals-but this was a nightmare!

There is a lot of noise in the neighborhood currently as two highrise buildings are being built across the street, one 17 stories and the other 35 stories. Construction will start on the 35 story building sometime in the future.
Also, the apartments are being remodeled so there is the potential of lots of noise within the building. There are currently 3 units being remodeled on my floor plus one above me. It can be quite noisy during the day with the noise of saws hammers. The water is turned off periodically in the process, sometimes for 5 or 6 hours.
Yes, we have some crazy people in the building, but I am sure that happens often in San Francisco. The super liberal politicians make it almost impossible to evick a bad tenant.
