I thought I didn t need to leave a review since all the comments here are over 90% accurate comparing to my experience. I am probably one of the longest residents here. I moved into this building as a student in 2003 and I have been living here since then. So I had share of my pros & cons experience about this place as time fly.....

Between 2003 and 2006, I am very satisfied with my lease.
Pros: This is a great place to live in terms of location and views. If you are an active student who is out all day and like to have a place of privacy at night, this place is absolutely luxurious for you. Office stuff was friendly during that time and I have never had problem with. My unit still has the carpet floor.
Cons: The building is old. It is not an upscale modern building in the nicest neighborhood. So it is not sound proof. Definitely a lot of noise at night! Not for light sleeper.

From 2006 to present, things going down to HELL! Here are the major problems I encountered.

Maintenance guys are cool but the new management is the most un-ethical department I have seen in my life. The manager (Michael) is a good guy. There have been some bad employees but they quited due to bad reputation around the complex. There are still some employee you should be aware of dealing ie. accounting guy!!!! he can be nice for sometimes. but most time! he can be a harsh one to deal with. Always, consult with manager for he is the most effective ones. I have no knowlege about lastest leasing consultants. lets hope your apartment dose not have any breakdown.

Encounter 1: The accounting guy is ignorant and defensive.
There has been a fire accident in the trash tube in the past. The fire burned all the way up that night. The interior of building is full of smoke. No one can sleep during that night. I have expensive clothes that were tainted with smog. I filed for renter insurance with state farm. They want a letter to state there is actually an event that link to my personal property damages. So I asked for management to write a letter of concern. But the accounting guy told me right away that I DIDN T HAVE ANY DAMAGES just to get his day passed. I was not looking to sue but need an evident support to cover my claims. He simply just dose not want to help and transfer me by telling me I have no claims. That was very strange and not helpful response.

Encounter 2: I was told by maintenance that I HAVE TO BE AGGRESSIVE to ask for the service.
Yet they put on AD to say BEST SERVICE GURANTEED every day in the elevator. My refrigerator had broken down. Regardless of my countless requests for office attention, I ended up with broken refrigerator for 7 months. I had to get one from Casco for personal use. They only give me back $200 for rent credit. Also the refrigerators not only generate heat but also make loud noise I had to kick it in the middle of night to get through some sleep for those seven months.

Encounter 3: You have no trust for being long term tenant.

I lost my wallet during a business trip and I was $100 short of rent that month. I reported my account lost and waiting for replacement. The Accounting guy didn t believe me but choose to evict me before I can pay. It takes three weeks for eviction notice to be effective while the account will be cleared in 10 business days. But yeah, he wants to spend 1200 dollars to resolve a 100 dollar problem because he dose not want to state a 10 days account receivable for his job. And his job is to help company save money' or is it spending 1200 to just demonstrate his power within his duty'

I dont seek justification for this encounter. But I just feel that they are never wrong about the promise they dont make. But as we are customers, we get the bad service daily and big time penalty for small inconvenience we caused.

Encounter 4: I received another notice stating I owe rent while the balance was 0.
I receive a one time notice at my door stating that I owe rent but it was wrongly documented because partial balance that was credited with interest refund from deposit. This problem only happen to me once. But many tenants have the same problem from time to time. But you know there is only ONE accounting guy in the office.

Encounter 5: our BEST SERVICE GUARANTEE = do it yourself if you can.
The carpet that was pinned to the bathroom door has come off. I request for help. Not heard much back. My friend had her toe pin by the rusty iron nail. She had minor bleeding. So what is the point since you know how they are right now' I end up borrowing neighbor hamer to knock the nail down.

There are also many minor problems as the way management practice.
1. Fire alarm can go off for testing at midnight.
2. Your express package maybe on hold because the staff didn't sign to receive it for you.
3. Tenant morality is going down. We get homeless alike moving in these days.
4. I heard people have their white underwear and jeans stolen from dryer.
5. You will see crazy meth head circulating around the building wondering how they can pay to live here.

With the way management is going down like this. I will eventually move away while I have seen many moving in and out every weeks like a busy revolving door.

I have lived at Fox Plaza for 18 months (2008-2009). While I find the place certainly less than perfect, I have to defend it against several of the charges in this review. Fire alarms are never tested at midnight. A fire alarm at that hour is caused by the fire alarm system sensors being tripped by something...smoke in the hallways, sprinkler somewhere going off, or maybe just a faulty sensor. But never a test in the middle of the night. Refrigerators generate heat. All do. That's what they do. Heat is transferred. Cool into box, heat away from external coils. I have found maintainance quick and responsive. My fridge seemed noisy to me. They replaced it with a brand-new one right away. Maintainance requests have always been responded to in a day or two to my satisfaction.
