When searching for an apartment to rent in the downtown area, Aurora Yerba Buena was a great value. The rent is a little steep, but the units are very large for SF and very clean and you get what you pay for. Compared to the countless other buildings I toured, this was the nicest one (and the newest.) The location is great also: 4 blocks from Market St and near the SFMoMA, the Sony Metreon w/Yerba Buena Gardens and Moscone Center. I walk to work.



Like any new building, there may be problems (there?s a small leak in my living room, but they fixed it and will repaint) and if anything is ever broken/needs fixing you just have to ask. The building is still under warranty also (2002.)



The interior of the apartment is just fine: neutral beige carpet, off-white walls, all-new appliances. I?m pretty picky about cleanliness but this building is near immaculate.



Other perks include coinless laundry (it takes credit/debit card), on-site parking (which i don?t need/use), 24-hour door person and key-card controlled access, T1 connection available (i?m on one now) and dry cleaning/maid/grocery delivery service available.



The only thing is you can?t pick your cable/tv provider because you can only get DirecTV satellite, which you pay to tap into the building?s satellite ($49/mo minimum plan, $200 deposit, $200 decoder box rental). I guess I?ll just stick to my high-speed internet connection.



Overall this is probably one of the nicest residences you can get for a reasonable amount of rent.
