Yo!

Cons outweigh the limited Pros - Look Elsewhere!

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005

Cons:

1) Maintenance & Repairs - the worst i've ever seen!
2) Management - senior manager is fine, as well as one young woman, the rest are slackers -- noted by the revolving door of staff!
3) Facilities - Gym sucks and is never cleaned regularly! Gross! The bathroom in the gym doesn't lock and they don't repair equipment with any urgency!
4) Apartment - walls are the thinnest i've ever experienced! only one sheet of drywall so you can hear everyone's conversation next door without even placing your ear to the wall! Don't rent here on this priniciple alone or you will have to speak in whispers during your entire stay! Rooms are not insulated, so that means winters are freezing and hence the use of the inefficient, unsafe, and costly crappy heaters they provide! The cheapest of lighing fixures are installed that "buzz" in every apartment.
5) Parking - see other posts, just ridiculous
6) Noise - many times the Whole Foods do repairs in their supermarket without warning--how about a jackhammer at 7 am as your wake up call! Again, thin walls! Finally, their a lot of rowdy kids that go to the clubs on weekends in the neighborhood--a lot of noise from their bass subwoofers in their cars will keep you up late if you're a light sleeper! Police do not come unless you get on the phone and complain! A weekly occurence!

7) Safety - windows do not open fully and if you do not have a deck, so that means you can be stuck inside your room if their is a fire with no way of escaping! Also this area of SOMA is not safe at all for women who travel alone at night!

Pros:

1) the recycling and trash is conveinent on each floor so you don't have to take it downstairs-- as you should people pay up to $1850 for a one bedroom - you better get some perks!
