Over time, I got very dissatisfied with living in Aurora. Overall, I'd say it's not worth it, considering what you pay to live here.
The parking situation is terrible. The space is very narrow, and there are times when they apparently sell a lot of monthly permits to non residents, so it's very difficult to find a parking spot, even during the day. That forces you to go back to the Whole Foods level, and park there (although, you'll constantly hear nagging from the manager not to park there). Also, the gates are often broken. When we moved in, the perception of safety was one of the deciding factors; however, we're often locked out of the third floor if the gate won't open. Or there will be times when it will be open all day for everyone - no security whatsoever. We had a wave of burglaries recently, cars broken into, bikes stolen, and the management handled it very unprofessionally. Instead of taking responsibility for their faulty security system, and informing us on steps taken to correct the problems this building obviously has, they posted a very arrogant note asking us not to contact them when our car is broken into (ah, were we bothering you too much'!), along with some patronizing, ridiculous advice such as to get an alarm for our car, and an insurance deductible we can tolerate. When you pay this much as we do in Aurora, you don't want to deal with this kind of stuff. Even if you don't have a car, it's an example of the attitude you'll get dealing with any issue here - they are just not helpful.
-There has been a lot of noise coming from Whole Foods, since they tend to do a lot of work at odd hours.
-People working at the reception can be non responsive, sometimes rude - again, in any other place it would be fine, but they claim luxury and charge you accordingly, but just don't deliver. At one point they had 2 ppl working there (kids in high school'), and they'd take a long lunch together, and close the office for 1.5 hours. How about alternating for lunch and keeping the office open'
-Lots of dogs in the building, many owners take them to the garage for their walk (!) and some do not pick up after them. Gross!
