Yo!

the verdict is unanimous

I have to agree with previous posts. I've lived in this apartment building over a year and the quality has disintegrated significantly since the new management arrived. Below are some key facts:
1. Stopped taking credit cards (there goes my frequent flyer miles)
2. Stopped holding packages. They actually allow the postal delivery to wander the building delivering door-to-door at 3pm. Guess what' I'm at work like everyone else. Oh, when you try to pick up your package, the office is empty and nobody returns for hours. This is a big problem when you've ordered an expensive piece of equipment which gets abandoned outside your door (or worse, locked in the office over the holiday weekend)
3. No door man. Sorry, but anyone can get into the building and is rarely challenged. At this price, you would expect a 24/7 doorman.
4. Neighborhood is terrible. Between the highway noise (love those motorcycles ripping rubber at 1am), nightclub kids yelling, and homeless looking for a Wholefoods snack (or pillaging the dumpster for bottles or whatever id theft goodies abound), its amazing management has the gaul to compare rates against other areas downtown. In addition, the mental patients (down the street) and sleeping homeless are lots of fun to dodge on a weekday morning walk to work (forget about feeling safe during a morning jog).
5. Price increases of approximately 10% in 06, which is problem with this management company in particular.
6. Fire alarms triggered frequently (including several in the middle of the night).

In summary, its obvious this area is not the best of San Francisco. You would expect to sacrifice some pleasantries for the convenience of being near the financial district and living above a grocery store; however, the question arises - Does this apartment, management, and area justify a precipitous rise in rates'
