Four years, sad to leave

We moved in back in 98. I loved the space, we stayed for four years. The only reason for leaving was a job transfer. Maintence took care of any problems we had with 24 hours (usually less than 12 hours). We only ever had two problems: one, the stove stopped working and two, a closet shelf fell. Other than that, we had an uneventful peaceful stay. My neighbors were great, still miss then, some are still there. Getting packages was great since I was never home for the UPS or FEDEX guy. As long as you got home before the office closed, you could get your package, and they always put a note on your door letting you know there was a delivery. The staff was friendly enough, we use to go down to use their fax machine once in a while (there is a small charge). One new guy came aboard who I thought had an attitude, but I believe he didn't last long. Everyone else was quite nice.

The pool was wonderful when used off hours, it can get packed on a hot day. And being on the South side of SF, you tend to get more sun than fog most of the time which is great. I would sneak in a few laps in the morning before work, it was great! I used the excercise room regulary, again, off hours to avoid the crowds. Having the little deli store on the corner was a bonus for someone like me who never had time to cook. The salad bar is great and the homemade pastas and meal are wonderful (most made by the owner, not brought in from some other store). And having CrossRoads Cafe nearby was a perfect retreat on Saturday and Sunday mornings to lounge inside or out, drink a coffee, and read the paper for hours. I miss that place!

My only complaint would be the prices. We started at 1895 for a 2 bedroom and within 3 years, we were paying 2650 (this also included one parking space). The prices began to drop when we left in 2001, but it was too late, we had to move anyway. Of course, this was around the time that everything in SF skyrocketed. I still think it was worth it, I loved it there.
