I've lived in Bayside for 5 years...first in a studio, then I got a one bedroom. Yes, it is expensive (and was when I moved here...but that was during the dotcom boom and there was a 1% vacancy rate in San Francisco.
San Francisco Magazine rated South Beach one of the best new neighborhoods and Bayside Village is one of the reasons why.
No rats (a mouse...I saw 1 every year or so), so I don't know what people on here are talking about (maybe they had rats because of how they lived or if they lived in a different bldg than I did).
Parking is fairly reasonable ($125 a month to my knowledge) I'm sure it's market value.
Management is kind and I believe treat folks the way they want to be treated.
South Beach is very wheelchair friendly and Bayside has amenities to accomodate wheelchair bound and elderly folks.
All in all, a nice place to live, kind neighbors and does everything I need an apt community to do.
