A wonderful place to live

Dont be misled by reviews written by people who never lived in the building. The Carillon is a wonderful place to live. I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment for a year and after the economic down turn I moved to a 1 bedroom in the same building to take advantage of the lower rent.
I know from experience how hard it is to find a pet-friendly apartment in San Francisco, so finding the Carillon was a blessing. I had no problem getting my cat accepted to the building, although Ive heard that dogs can be more difficult.
The building is very well maintained and has amenities that include a weight room, pool and sauna. Laundry is on every other floor, dishwasher in kitchen, and every apartment has a balcony. Noise from inside the building is almost non-existent, although some noise from the street or nearby high school is noticeable. Secure parking and additional storage are available for additional cost. Management can be a brusque but they do their job well and managers assistants are very helpful.
Rent for apartments on lower floors is cheaper than higher floors because the view isnt as nice. Depending on what is available at the time, and which floor the unit is located on, rent can vary quite a bit.
The only criticisms I have are not directly the responsibility of the Carillon: mail delivery sometimes gets skipped (although frequent phone calls to the postmaster seem to have fixed this problem) and the city doesnt allow residential parking permits for residents of this building even though most of the surrounding streets are zoned for area "R" residential permits.
