Quiet, convenient, a little expensive

On the whole, it's a great place to live. Several things stand in the way of it being perfect all the way down the line...
The management does stupid things sometimes like sending out memos that say there's a $500 resident referral bonus in big letters at the top, then when you read further it says $300 in smaller letters. They don't know how to spell the word "chute" - as in "trash chute." The elevator doesn't go any further than the first floor. Some calls to the office for maintenance are essentially ignored...just call again. Package delivery to the inside of apartments is on-again, off-again (mostly off-again) so it can be inconvenient to have things to sent your house. There's not a whole lot of warmth between residents, IMHO, but there's a Yahoo group (citylofts) that's been breaking down some of the barriers.
On the upside, it's one of the quietest places I've ever lived, maintenance does come when the request isn't lost, the in-building Internet and DirecTV service are nice to have. There's covered parking under the building (maybe free if you negotiate a good lease!)...beware street parking. Some cars get broken into! The hot water is centrally provided (and hot!) You can leave your trash outside your apartment on Monday and Friday mornings and it'll be picked up. The complex is cleaned at least once a week by a professional crew.
I've lived here over two years for a reason.
