Living in the Cosmopolitan Apartments was perhaps the smartest financial move I've ever made. I moved there in early 1999 and left in late 2004. At the time, my rent was $650. My rent increased just once - to $669. My apartment was bright, cheery and cozy. Although the neighborhood was quite noisy and a bit dirty, I walked everywhere - to shop, work, musuems, etc. I loved not having to own a car or even take public transportation very often. That being said, BART was a short walk away, along with Muni, streetcars, etc. For the true urban experience, I cannot endorse this place more wholeheartedly! I saved a ton of money and I loved having my own place.
