Diamond Heights Village are actually condos, not apartments, but quite a few of the units are rented out. This is probably one of the nicest places to live in SF. Unlike most places in this city, you actually get a FREE assigned parking spot IN THE GARAGE with your unit (Try getting that in SOMA... you'll have to pay $150 or $200 a month EXTRA for parking). There is a gorgeous swimming pool that is heated year-round, and surrounded by lush landscaping. In the clubhouse is a jacuzzi, sauna, showers, billiard room, meeting room, and fireplace lounge with books you can borrow. The courtyard has more lush landscaping and ponds and waterfalls. The units range in size; the smallest studios can be a bit cramped, but the larger "alcove studios" are much more spacious, and the 1- and 2-bedroom units have very generous floor plans. Because these are condos, and because the building was built in 1972, the units vary individually. Some owners have done extensive remodelling jobs, while others have left the original wallpaper and 70's decor, so look around and pick a good unit. All the units have double-pane storm windows, which is great for blocking out noise (not that there is much noise because it's a quiet residential area far from trains and heavy traffic). The complex has approximately 400 units, and they all face different directions, so some have breathtaking views while others have no view. As a renter or a buyer, you will get a lot more for your money here than you will in the trendy, unsafe neighborhoods like SOMA or Mission, and you will live in a peaceful luxury setting that is only minutes away from city life but feels like an oasis a world apart.

I'm relocating to SF from out of state in two months... Any thoughts on how to go about contacting the private owners of these condos about possibly renting a one bedroom? ANY help would be great! They look and sound beautiful!
