I checked out the FC, and it did seem OK except that the salesperson seemed completely desperate for me to sign a lease immediately - in SF that is a big clue that something is wrong. When I asked what the neighborhood was like, the salesperson gave a long, effusive and totally overcompensating explanation about safety. I did not ask about safety, I was not concerned about safety - I am not the type of person that typically gets 'hassled'. But the fact that this was the topic the salesperson jumped to was very interesting and telling. On my way out I had an interesting encounter with 2 wannabe gangstas walking out of one of the garages, who seemed eager to pick a fight with me for no reason other than the fact that I looked at them - that hasn't happened since I was about 17. Don't assume I am a middle class white person complaining about black people - you couldnt be more wrong.

Ok, you middle-class white person. I won't assume anything.
