my apartment leaks due to a roof problem, and the resident service is slow and not helpful in response to this problem. by the way, the lease stated that they're not responsible for damages due to water leakage. Considering the building is poorly built, I think it will happen frequently.

Your correct in that, THat is something that all lease agreements state, NO COMPLEX IS EVER going to pay for damage to your stuff, This happened in my very first apartment. It sucks but you deal with it, I lived with a hole in my ceiling for over a year.

When I worked there, I routinely moved people into apartments only to be yelled at within minutes after they found buckets in their new homes full of water pouring from the ceiling. No consideration was ever granted to them... Only shallow apologies.
