I'm actually a former resident and I had a really positive expereince here. It's a pretty, old brick building with a rather quirky lobby. My studio was good sized for the price, but looked into the lightwell. It was very dark, only receiving about a 4x6 inch rectangle of light on the window sill on a good day. The location was really convenient for getting anywhere in the city and I enjoy the neighborhood as well. A few nice parks, plenty to do/eat on Fillmore St (pricey though) and a quick walk to lower Haight. Ron was/is' the apartment superintendent and he's a really nice guy, very helpful, very responsive. The only real downsides were the lack of light, electric stove (normal for a studio), parking could be difficult, and the trappings of an old building (very few outlets in very inconvenient spots and they didn't have a grounding wire). This is a great place to get you started in the city.
