This place has been a nightmare. They shut off the water every Wednesday for the entire day. The internet rarely works. The phone service doesn't work often. Housekeeping appears at around 5:30pm weekly. The construction is noisy. The elevator is always screwy (i.e., if you hit fl 8, it lets you off at 7 so if you're trying to get on at fl 4, you have to quickly run to 3 to get on it). This location is NOT in Nob Hill as they specify, it's more like Tenderloin location. The block itself is reasonable safe, however, don't walk one block south. Most of the staff could care less, and repairs are not made in a timely manner.
The only good things are location, the room is decent and bed is comfy. Though not reasonable storage and they could afford to at least put a picture on the wall.

Let's see, where to begin. . . I've now been at the Gaylord for 11 weeks and have been nothing but delighted. Let's tackle your vitriol in the order it was spewed.
The water is NOT shut off every Wednesday. I do know there was some renovation construction prior to my checking in, however during my time here I have not had any water shut off.
Housekeeping is a joy. They come once a week to clean and change linens. They always arrive sometime in the morning and do a lovely job with my room. Plen ty of towels left, bathroom scrubbed thoroughly, kitchenette area sparkling.
There has been no construction noise. As a matter of fact, there has been little noise at all from within the hotel and only the expected outside noise in a big city.
The elevator has always let me off on the floor of the button I pushed. Perhaps a little better aim on your part is warranted.
You are correct, this is not really Nob Hill, but it is certainly not the Tenderloin. In fact, this hotel is closer by two blocks to Nob Hill and two blocks further away from the Tenderloin than the Hilton, which is directly down Jones St at O'Farrell. I walk home alone at all hours of the day and night and because of the crowds and the location of the Gaylord, have not once felt insecure. Stay on Geary or above when taking a street to Jones and you will be fine.
The staff has been courteous and willing to try to find information for me when I asked a question. I had one repair in my room that was taken care of promptly and followed up on by the maintenance man to make certain I was satisfied with the outcome.
The room is more than decent and you are right, the bed is incredibly comfy. I don't know how much storage you require, but my walk-in closet is large enough to but another queen-sized bed in it. I packed for 6 months and did not make a dent in the closet space--I shudder to think how much one would need to fill one of these closests.
Oh, and your last little shot. . . "afford at least put a picture on the wall." I have two pictures on my walls, as well as a beautifully framed large mirror in addition to the full-length mirror on the inside of the walk-in closet door.
I have a feeling your stay at the Gaylord was unpleasant because you are an unpleasant person.
