My wife and I stayed there to escape the heat of the California desert last summer and we are returning this year. Our one large one bedroom apartment was very adequate with a very usable kitchen.
The location of our apartment was great with a view of Grace Cathedral across the street as well as the Fairmont Hotel and a sneak view of the Bay Bridge.
Yes the rent is not cheap, but San Francisco is not a cheap city. Parking is tight and costs $300.00. The building is old but I believe it has character. The noise level is to be expected with traffic noise since it is one block off California St. If you can not tolerate any traffic noise then this is certainly not the place for you.
David the manager and Sandy the clerical person went beyond their job. Whatever we wanted they more than willingly provided.
This time I am going to take a sweater as we found that the apartment was not really warm (August), but that is the reason we came to S.F. in the first place.
The bus is one block north and the Calif. St. Cable car is one block south. You couldn't ask for a more convenient(and windy) location.
