Yo!

I like it so far

I've been living here for 3 months now and am happy overall. The office staff has been helpful when I need to get a parking place for the week etc.

I like the size of the apartment I am in (a studio), it is 3x's the size of the one I just left in the heart of North Beach and only a little more per month. Plenty of closet space and a living space arrangement that makes sense, unlike apartments converted from flats. And more than enough electric jacks, I don't have to overload one or two with several extension cords so I'm no longer a fire hazard!

Sure, it isn't as charming as living in a Victorian or Edwardian but that isn't so important to me after years of living in older buildings.

No problems with noise either from outside or other tenants, I barely hear my neighbors. Sometimes the buses get loud but not unbearably so. The laundry areas are large and clean, the grounds are well-maintained. I like having a pool on the grounds and LOVE having a big balcony, can't wait to watch the fireworks on July 4th!

The only things I don't like are the fumes from the buses idling and the electric stoves but nowhere is perfect! The last person said that the area isn't a true neighborhood which is fair enough but it is close enough to North Beach and Russian Hill. I personally like having home be an oasis and not being in the middle of a noisy bar scene as I was. And having Safeway and Walgreen's one block away is fabulous.

Parking is good even street parking isn't awful. And for $10 for 24 hours, getting a space inside the building is easy and a good deal. Plus, visitors may rent an apartment in the building for $75/ night and the management provides residents with the ability to rent a rollaway bed for guests and they also offer carpet and drape cleaning for a fee.

And the bus that takes me to and from work is right outside the door. Can't beat it. I do have hesitation about walking the neighborhood alone at night (I'm a woman) but I have enough street smarts.
