This place is terrible... read this before you get it

There are so many flaws to this place that it is surprising that it is in business at all.
Here are some of its "features". 1. It is right next to a huge fire department. At any hour of the day (or night) you can expect 2 or 3 fire engines blaring down the street. Typically at least once or twice during the day. And it is right next to some very busy streets. (I should add that it is convenient to have the fire department close by since about once a month the fire alarm goes off and the building is evacuated while the FD comes in and turns the alarm off.)
2. The apartments on the top floor have a dull throbbing at all times. Turns out this is the elevator unit and they are not going to fix this any time soon.
3. The garage doors are in bad shape, so if you get the exorbitant parking, be prepared to be locked out when you return in the middle of the night. If you are lucky the exit will still work and you can go in through the out door so to speak after opening the door from the inside, making a mad dash back to your car and hoping nobody decides to exit at the same time.
4. The managers are terrible, rude and absolutely unhelpful. They are completely inflexible about lease terms, even after residing there for one year, you WILL be forced to renew for 6 months or 1 year. There is no month-to-month renewal. This means you have to time your (grateful) exit with your lease terms. Fun.
5. The interiors of the apartments tend towards the decrepit. Heating in my living room didn't work I discovered this cold winter, and it took them 3 weeks to fix it while I almost froze to death.
6. While the neighborhood _seems_ safe, my visiting friend had his car (parked on adjacent street) broken into and vandalized. So parking is likely a must (besides it is next to impossible to find street parking in this area)
7. Oh yeah, the elevators are broken an average of several days each month, and the laundry rooms are shite. And don't get locked out by mistake - there's a $25 charge to be let back in! Can't believe I am paying $1600 for a 1 bedroom place with about 400 square feet!
