I lived at the Paramount for 7 months, I'm moving out in about a month, however, there are certain things that one should take into consideration when moving here.
1) Views are fantastic, maybe I'm a little biased since I lived on the Penthouse level (42nd floor) however, a view does get old after a while, and with the new building right in front of me, its some what of a diminished view, however, it is still quite a site.
2) You'd think living up so high, I'd have a great time with no noise and so forth, well, trust me, I can hear those sirens like I'm right next to them, I don't know where that fire station is, but you'll hear at least 3 every hour, you'll get use to it, however, don't ever think they'll go away.
3) Rent is high for what you get, I do have 1,150 square feet, however, I share that with 3 other people, and you'll want to make sure your good friends with them, living so close to people does strain a relationship.
4) Pool and gym are great, pool is a little on the small side, and although they say it's heated, it's so bloody cold that I might as well be swimming in the bay. However, the gym is great, equipment is new and maintained, and it's only $250/year for a room. So everybody in the room can use it. Great deal.
5) Staff are extremely friendly, although te rent staff does give the feeling of used cars salesman, they are helpful, (ask for Arnel, he's the most useful). Conceirge is always polite, and they handle your packages well.
6) Parking is outrageous, don't expect too much, you'll be disappointed.
7) Be careful when signing, you might not like what you get, and then again, you might enjoy it also. Depends how you look at it. Don't be fool by the roof deck or the nice looks of the rooms, they do fill up quickly and the luxuries do wear off quickly. Also, walls are thin, if you have a nice sound system, better kiss those wonderful bass notes goodbye, or they'll send notes with lawyer signatures and threats of eviction to you (trust me, I got one!)
8) One last thing, credit checks and stuff is 36 times your monthly rent, think about that, that's outrageous and downright ridiculus.
