I like the Soviet look of the apartments, and the tough-looking but actually very polite Russian kids who hang around. The cool thing about these apartments (I live in the one building that is under separate ownership from Park West) is the fact that the living rooms are enormous, and the walls are very thick so you can't hear your neighbor's loud music. The ceilings aren't quite as thick, so you can hear people stomping around upstairs at times. The heated outdoor swimming pool is a big plus in this city, though keeping the heat on reliably and keeping it vacuumed reliably are iffy propositions. There have been times when the pool was shut off for a month at a time in the middle of the summer. Still, the balconies are another nice touch, and sliding glass doors let in a lot of light. Tie in Andronico's, laundry and the N Judah and you have a pretty convenient combination.
