Good location, nice staff, decent apartments

I lived in Post Street Towers from 1999 until 2002, during a time when it was practically impossible to find anything to rent in SF. My main draw to the complex was its proximity to local work areas (South of Market & Downtown). By living there, I was able to walk (30 minutes) to work. Also, the complex is just down the street from Union Square and the Theatre District, as well as more restuarants than I could try out in 2 years! However, this is very much the "tourist" side of SF, so if you want a more "local" neighborhood, this is not it. The towers are very safe--I used to walk home from work and other activities late at night and never had any problems--especially on Post St. because all the hotels have door people who watch the neighborhood. The complex has good security (including a concierge), and the garage has an attendant 24/7, though I once caught the attendant sleeping late at night.
As the other reviews indicate, the apartments are small, but I had an amazing view (13th floor), and generally quiet. Residents are friendly, but I found the complex too big to really get to know my neighbors.
Overall, a nice place to live in a fun, convenient neighborhood.
