Decent accomidations From: darkstar Date posted: 10/29/2001 Years at this apartment: 1995 - 1997 1 response   Some nice tenants were there at the time. Mostly very quite building, EXCEPT for the firestation around the corner. You get used to it, but it does seem to interrupt at just the most opportune moments. Apt was filthy when I moved in, but cleaned up well. Maybe under new management. Lots of little dives within a few blocks that have great food. Movie lovers will find the Lumiere, AMC-1000, Galaxy Theatre, and Opera Plaza Theatres all in close walking distance. 25 screens in all. Parking is extra, but this central location is perfect for transiters/bikers. At the time the neighborhood was a little sketchy at late hours, but it appears to have cleaned up some with the new renovations going on around it. There was laundry in the basement, but I generally dropped everthing off at the cleaners across the street. There is a service elevator to the alley for moving in/out, but required management notice for them to unlock the doors at times.
