I had a very pleasant experience at SOMA Residences. The building is nice, clean and secure. The apartments are very good for the money one is paying, but can be a bit small. On-site gym and cheap parking are nice amenities. The management is fairly responsive and is willing to work with its residents in terms of problems, rent, parking, etc.

Downsides are only really the neighborhood can be hard, not really rough, just a lot going on and irritating to deal with. My girlfriend, used to feel uncomfortable visiting late at night sometimes, but the building itself is VERY secure. But cool thing about the neighborhood is that one is within 4-5 blocks of almost of the fun clubs/bars in SOMA...easy to stumble home after a hard night.

Tip; get the apartments that face away from Mission Street, as those that face that way are very noisy and dusty.

The architecture is really beautiful...many friends admired it when they visited. Good luck
