I haven't moved in yet but after reading the reviews I have to add my two cents.
First, I have had a very pleasant expirience with the leasing office. Susan has been mentioned several times as unhelpful yet, she was my agent and lterally bent over backwards to accomodate me.
Second, there are many complaints about the neighborhood. Yes, obviously SOMA area is full of druggies and bums but it's places like the SOMA residences that are helping to change the area. It's certainly lightyears better than it was a few years ago. If you can afford to live in the wealthier neighborhoods in SF then you should. Otherwise stop compaining, its a City for gods sake not Walnut Creek. If you want a suburb then go live in a suburb!
Third, a lot of reviews label the low income studio tennants as horrible people. Ill have you know that I am one of those tennants, a student, with no parents trying to make it through school on my own. I had expected to pay upwards of $1000 to live in a decent place. Thanks to the Below MArket Rate offered by SOMA Residences I have a great/safe place with a parking spot that fits my budget. People deserve a chance to have quality housing that fits they're budget and isnt in a ghetto. If you disagree then move back to Texas and get the f**k out of my city!
I think the place is fabulous and I should know, I've lived all over If you dont like it then try living in another neighborhood. Even in Nob Hill you had better not leave anything on your seat!!
