The good thing is that the neighborhood is quickly improving. The bad thing is that the neighborhood is quickly approving...and rising rent rates are the proof in the pudding. Every year they raise the rent substantially (they are not covered by rent control because the building is newer) to help pay for the improvements. It's very safe in the building (even though they have had reports of stolen laundry), cameras everywhere, there is a garage, and a little zen garden courtyard. The fourth floor are all "loft-like" which is definitely cool, and there's a fitness center and convenience store. They now have someone at the front door all the time for security or to pick up those late night packages. No problem with the management (ask for Herb), in fact, they are probably the main reason I've stayed. Unfortunately their constantly raising rents are the reason I had decided to move.

Thank god, I heard the truth before committing based on their false marketing. So any recommendations for a decent 1BR luxury apartment in Mi.Bay/SoBe area?
