We lived here for two years before a job took us to the east coast. In that sense, our situation was similar to many of the residents at SBMA, who have some corporate deal that takes them to SF for a year or two. So many people don't stay long, and you get to know neighbors only if you want to -- usually in the jacuzzi. That anonymity was fine with us; there's a reason a few of the lesser Giants players lived here. SMBA is the quietest apartment complex you could imagine. The walls are so thick that no sound gets through. We didn't hear any kids around us. Everything was modern. Of course, the one thing you miss is space. For a fairly high rent, we felt a bit squeezed in less than 700 sq ft. But the area is so pretty that you don't want to spend too much time in the apartment anyway.

The staff was very professional -- and if you don't like Martha, you have a bad sense of humor, because she's funny. Always liked chatting with the friendly guy at the front desk (I think his name was Marco). The gym was especially well maintained. Great laundry system.

When we moved out, they didn't take much out of our security deposit even though we'd written it off. Being in a hurry, we'd left the place in pretty bad shape.

As for the guy who got robbed, I can say that the only suspicious characters who ever lurked in the area were the fans wandering around the place after Rolling Stones concerts at the ballpark. Qlkxv6lfLuuXn3BrtpO7
