Overall, a good place to live

My partner and I lived here last summer (2004) for 3 1/2 months. We got in using a short-term corporate housing outfit called Executive Suites. It's pricey alright - we paid $2800 per month for a 650-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment, not including parking - but you expect that with short-term deals, and it was fully furnished with all utilities included. We picked it because of its location - it was close to BART and museums and the freeway was just a couple blocks away. A fair number of restaurants are within walking distance, as is the Metreon. I must disagree with people who say it's noisy - this was the quietest place I can remember renting. Our apartment did face the courtyard, but there was no problem with noise from neighboring apartments.
Amenities are pretty good, with a decent pool and exercise room.
Negatives - the elevator to the garage seemed to be out of order every third day. Occasionally it was hard to find parking in the garage, and the spaces are narrow. I wouldn't like to try find parking if I drove an SUV.
This is the only place I ever rented in San Francisco, so I have nothing to compare it with in the city. But compared with my rental experiences elsewhere, I'd rate this place as no worse than average, and in some respects above average.
